Born in Congo DRC, Florence grew up in Kasai and Kinshasa where she finished her university studies and worked for 10 years in drama and television. After completing her studies there, Florence had several positions in Congo, including as a producer and presenter of television programs at the Congolese national broadcaster, Radio-Television Nationale Congolaise, a performer and entertainer at the Congolese National Theatre Company and a teacher and educator of HIV/AIDS prevention and moral guidance for the NGO Education for Life Central Service.
In 2010 Florence received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Victoria Police in recognition of her "commitment to promoting positive engagement between the Congolese Community and Victoria Police."

Florence speaks five languages: English, French, her native tongue Tshiluba, Lingala (the language spoken in the Congo’s capital Kinshasa) and Swahili (spoken widely across East Africa)
As an experienced Mutuashi dancer and teacher, Florence has performed and taught the dance to a diverse range of audiences, including primary schools and nursing homes; more recently through SisterWorks.
